Overview
Membership is the major funding source for building the Queensland Nepalese Cultural Centre in Brisbane. We aim to have a large membership base so that the dream project of Nepalese community could be completed within the next 5 years.
Membership types and current fees
Individual life member: one time payment of $1,000
Family life member: one time payment of $1,500
Institutional member: one time payment of $3,000 (this could be waived considering the potential involvement and support of the member organisation)
Membership application
Eligible members must complete an application form with the necessary details and submit it with proof of payment of the membership fee.
The QNCC management committee will determine the acceptance or rejection of the application. The applicant will receive a written notice of the decision from the Secretary as soon as practicable.
The membership database will be updated accordingly.
An announcement regarding the new members will be made via email and social media only after the above process is completed.
Any conflicts arising during the membership application process will be resolved in accordance with the QNCC constitution and membership guidelines.
Partial payment of the membership fee
Any eligible member may commence the membership process by submitting a signed application form and making a minimum payment of $200 towards the membership fee.
The applicant must pay the full membership fee within one year of application. The application will only be approved upon full payment. Until the membership is approved, the applicant will receive all communications from QNCC that life members receive, but will not be able to exercise the powers of a life member.
The applicant must make a firm commitment regarding the payment of the full membership fee, for example, in instalments.
If the applicant fails to pay the full membership fee within one year, the deposited amount will be converted to a donation to QNCC and the applicant will be duly acknowledged.
Upgrading the membership type
Individual life members can upgrade their membership to family life members by paying the difference between the membership fee (currently $500).
If by any chance, the couple who have taken the family life membership decide to separate legally, both of them will be entitled to keep individual life membership.
