About Us

Building a Cultural Home for Queensland’s Nepalese Community

Queensland Nepalese Cultural Centre (QNCC) is a not-for-profit incorporated association registered with the Queensland Government’s Office of Fair Trading. Based in Brisbane, we are working towards establishing a dedicated Nepalese Cultural Centre in Queensland.

QNCC represents Nepalese communities across South East Queensland, including Brisbane, Logan, Redland, Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, and surrounding areas. We are a non-racial and apolitical organisation committed to celebrating and promoting the rich heritage of Nepalese culture in Queensland.

Our purpose is to foster goodwill, harmony, and well-being within the Nepalese community, while strengthening cultural connections between Nepal and Australia.

GET INVOLVED

Membership, Donation & Volunteering

To realise our vision of the Nepalese Cultural Centre, we need significant financial support. We are raising these funds through a variety of channels, including membership drives, personal and family donations, major fundraising events, and government grants. Additionally, we are seeking volunteers to assist with our cultural, community, and fundraising activities. Your support and involvement are crucial to our success, and together, we can achieve our goals.

Current membership & fundraising status

We have been actively promoting life membership as a key initiative to secure financial support and community ownership for the QNCC. This membership drive gained significant momentum during the land purchase phase. Currently, we have 561 family life members and 56 individual life members, bringing our total to 617. To date, we have raised $1.75 million through these membership drives and donations.

Membership is the primary funding source for QNCC. Options include Individual ($1,000), Family ($1,500), and Institutional ($3,000) life memberships. Applicants must submit a form with proof of payment for committee approval, after which successful candidates are formally notified and announced publicly. Eligible individuals can initiate membership with a $200 deposit, provided the balance is cleared within one year; otherwise, funds convert into a donation.

Donating is a primary way to support the QNCC, with 100% of all contributions dedicated to construction of the cultural centre. You can contribute through one-off gifts, milestone celebrations, memorials, or professional services. Every donor will be recognised on a future “Wall of Appreciation.” Whether providing financial aid or gifts in kind, your generosity is a vital investment in a community legacy for future generations.

Volunteering with the QNCC is a vital way to support building a permanent home for our heritage. Opportunities include supporting cultural festivals, leading subcommittees, assisting with fundraising, or serving as local community liaisons. By sharing your professional skills or time, you gain valuable experience and networking opportunities. Join our team today to help turn our shared vision into a lasting landmark for future generations.
